RIH display freezes on "Reading Data..." when trying to fuel a bus
When the RIH gets stuck on “Reading Data”, it means the F30 (long board) inside the FR is not working, not seated, or the FRM chip on the F30 board is not working.
- Power off the RIH
- Open the front cover
- Identify the F30, it’s the long board that has a screw in the left side as well as the screws holding it into the socket
- Remove all 3 screws and remove the F30 board from the A30 motherboard
- Put the F30 back into the F30 slot, and hand-tighten all screws.
- Ensure any F30 ribbon cables are fully seated
- Power on the RIH again.
- Test to see if it gets past the Reading Data screen now
If it still doesn't work, the RIH may need a new F30, ribbon cable, or even A30 board. Please feel free to send back to S&A for repairs.
IMPORTANT:
Most systems have a setting in the Prompts to allow you to press the ID button when it gets stuck on Reading Data. It's an emergency bypass to allow buses to be fueled even if the RIH doesn't roll past the Reading Data message.
