DeviceMaster static IP test
If the DeviceMaster is offline in System Monitor and the Comtrol web page is not responding, perform this test:
Open Command Prompt and set up a continuous ping using ping -t IPAddress
Ask a technician to physically disconnect the DeviceMaster from its power source. While the DeviceMaster is powered off, monitor the ping results. If you still receive replies, it indicates that another device may have taken over the static IP address that was designated for the DeviceMaster. In this case, consult your network administrator for further assistance to assign the static IP for the DeviceMaster. The network admin may ask for the MAC address of the DeviceMaster which the technician can locate on the bottom of the DeviceMaster or through the web page if it's online again.
If the ping responses stop when the technician unplugs the DeviceMaster, have them reconnect it to power. Check if the ping replies return, and then verify the functionality of both the DeviceMaster's web page and System Monitor. If everything is operational, the issue has likely been resolved by the power cycle. However, if the DeviceMaster remains offline, consider the possibility that a replacement DeviceMaster may be necessary.
